Today a very exciting thing happened: my Visitor Oyster Card came in the mail! Huzzah! For those who don't know, Oyster Cards are extremely convenient for riding the buses and the Tube in London. You simply load money onto the card using a machine at the station, or you go online and "top it up," as the Brits say (you gotta love the Queen's English). Then, you scan the card at a card reader located near the entrance of the station, and you can proceed on your journey. Once the Tube or bus ride is done, you scan the card again so the system can calculate your total fare. I ordered mine online a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't expect it for another two weeks or so. What a nice surprise! I feel more like a true Londoner already. :)
And of course, I had to take a few pictures to capture the essence of this wonderful moment.
